Craigclowan School is proud to have a well-established and dynamic parents association. As a parent of any child at school, you are automatically a member, and are most welcome to attend the various Friends of Craigclowan (FC) activities and events throughout the year.
The FC Committee meets once a month, to organise a wide range of fundraising and social events for the Craigclowan community. Regular events include fun BBQs, discos for the children, a Summer Ball for parents and our ever-popular Christmas Fayre.
All funds raised by the FC are used to directly benefit the children at Craigclowan, allowing us to purchase a variety of equipment to enhance the children’s education. Using feedback from teachers, parents and the children themselves, the Committee decides on a term-by-term basis what to purchase. Recently, FC funds have been used to purchase outdoor play equipment for Pre-school, as well as Forest School and camping equipment, and funds have been pledged towards the second phase of the tremendously popular trim trail, as well as new cricket facilities, which will both be installed in the coming year.
The FC also run Craigclowan’s second hand uniform shop, which is manned by a number of parent volunteers. This provides an invaluable service within the school allowing parents to buy items of uniform at greatly reduced prices whilst raising funds for the benefit of the school community.
If you would like to get involved in the FC Committee, or have any particular skills you could offer, we would love to hear from you. There are always opportunities to participate – it is your FC, and your input will always be appreciated!
