Match Report: Under 13 Girls Hockey Craigclowan v Fettes 14th Nov 2018

Here are the match reports from the Under 13 A, U13B and 13C hockey matches against Fettes which took place on Wednesday 14th November 2018

From the first whistle until the final blast, this game was fast and intense.  Both teams started well and it was end to end stuff with both keepers making great saves.  Craigclowan had the edge on the pressure stakes and Sasha finally broke the deadlock just before half time.  The second half continued at the same great level, though with more composure from the players, which lead to some fantastic flowing hockey.  A controversial second goal from Craigclowan was replied quickly by Fettes keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats as the clock ticked down.  The team held their nerve and kept piling on the pressure to the end.

A well-deserved victory and, I think, your best performance of the season so far – well done girls.

Final Score

Craigclowan 2 – 1 Fettes

The team got off to a bit of a rocky start with some panic playing and passing.  Once they settled down the game flowed better and the girls created some scoring opportunities.  A great set piece led to Charlotte scoring the Craigclowan goal and it was 1-1 by half time.  Unfortunately Fettes picked up the pace and we couldn’t keep up, allowing for Fettes to score some more goals.  They would have scored more but Annie made some excellent saves today and was voted player of the match, well done!

Final Score

Craigclowan 1 – 4 Fettes

A determined effort by the girls today in what was a very tough match.  All the girls played their hearts out and the score line does not reflect their great game play today.  Lily and Beth worked tirelessly in defense and Annie made some wonderful saves, again being voted player of the match.  Unfortunately the speed and skill of the Fettes team allowed them to win the game but the girls should be very proud of their efforts today, well done!

Final Score

Craigclowan 0 – 7 Fettes
