Match Report: Under 12 A&B Girls Hockey Craigclowan v High School of Dundee

On Monday 8th October 2018, our under 12 girls hockey teams played High School of Dundee.

After a wee reshuffle of players to accommodate our missing goalie we started well. The girls used the width of the pitch and created some excellent scoring chances. We opened the scoring and continued to pile on the pressure yet only converted one of the many chances we had. The team held their positions and the defence did well stepping up to support the play. In the second half, Dundee came out all guns blazing and had a lot of opportunities. We defended well but they did manage to claw back a couple of goals. As the game came into the final few minutes it was all square at 3-3 and play became a bit panicked and scrappy. A super goal line save by Iona in the last 2 minutes kept the score at a draw. A gutsy performance girls. Well done.

Final Score

Craigclowan 3 - 3 High School of Dundee

The first run out as an U12 team and the girls gelled quickly performing some great hockey. It was great to see good communication, use of the width of the pitch and determination to push forward. Missing a goalie threw the girls a little bit which allowed Dundee to score a couple of goals but some great crosses into the D allowed Josephine to score twice, once in each half. Some superb midfield play by Harriet really helped with the flow of the game and she was voted 'Player of the Match' by the Dundee girls.

Final Score

Craigclowan 2 - 2 High School of Dundee
