(07.02.18) A great opportunity was available to the boys today at the annual IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) tournament. Five matches of 8 minutes each way meant we needed to play each match at a high intensity.
The boys started well with a hard fought victory over Casterton. Straight into the next match against Fettes. This was a closely fought match but an exciting game, which eventually finished in a draw.
After a short break we were back on against Ardvreck. This match was probably our best team performance; great defence, link up play and creating chances.
No rest for the boys as it was straight into the next game against Loretto. This was a bit scrappier and they scraped a narrow win although it should have been a more comfortable score line.
Up next were Cargilfield. Despite trying to play attacking hockey, lapse passing was punished. Cargilfield were ruthless in front of goal and took their chances well.
Our last match was against Belhaven. Tiredness started to set in and despite demanding more of the possession and playing well defensively for long periods, the boys conceded right at the final whistle.
A great experience for the boys and a top effort.
