Under 11 Cricket

The term started off with the usual cold, damp training sessions and matches. In the two early matches, the boys displayed some promise, lots of enthusiasm and energy but sadly they were unsuccessful in producing wins. Both Orley M. and Henry S. displayed some great skills with the bat and when bowling. If on form, they will certainly put any team that we come across to the test. We must, however, work hard at scoring more runs by being a little bit more aggressive and selective when going for run scoring shots.

The match against Ardvreck was a fantastic game with both teams producing some accurate and aggressive bowling and batting. It was lovely for the boys to get a win under their belts. This certainly boosted their confidence over the coming weeks.

The Glenalmond 6s tournament was played in glorious sunshine which was an unusual, if very pleasant experience. The boys played well with some particularly strong performance coming from the two powerhouses of the team, Orley and Henry. We were, sadly, just two runs away from securing our place in the knock out rounds but the boys can once again be proud of their efforts and I am sure that they thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic hospitality of Glenalmond College.

Next on the list was the Perth and Kinross Mixed Kwik Cricket tournament. Five boys and three girls headed off on one of the best summer days of the year. They all played fantastically and special mention must go to the girls, Daisy, Sasha and Mhairi whose fielding, bowling and batting skills were equal to the boys.

Mrs Grant should be very proud. The team put on strong performances in each and every match, managing to secure victories each time allowing us to go through to the regional finals in June.

Well done to you all! You were great ambassadors for the school.
