Match Reports: Girls Rounders Week Beginning 11.06.18

Under 9 and Under 10 Rounders  Craigclowan v Fettes (Away)

On Monday 11th of June the Under 9 and Under 10 girls travelled to Fettes to play Rounders.  In what was their first ever Rounders match, the U9 As and Bs impressed the home side with their batting skills and sporting behaviour.  Their end results were the U9As lost 12½ - 9½ and the U9Bs won 9 – 5.

The U10 As fielded well against a strong side but some batting errors left them with a loss of 23 - 6½.  The U10 B team fared better winning 16 -  13½.  They showed tight fielding skills and some well calculated batting.

Well done to all the girls on a great afternoon of Rounders.

Under 11 Rounders Craigclowan v Riley

On Wednesday 13th June, the Under 11 girls rounders team popped down the road to Riley to play Rounders.

Having lost the toss, we were first in to bat and put in a strong innings leaving us with 7 and a half. Riley then came in to bat, but the extremely tight fielding of the Craigclowan team made it difficult for them to score highly.

In the 2nd innings our batters started really wellying the ball into the outfield to achieve 15 and a half. Riley put in some bolder batting second time round but the end result was 23 - 9 to Craigclowan.  Carmen Mc was very reliable as bowler and built up a great partnership with Sasha M and Daisy I who shared the backstop role. Annie B took a fantastic catch and Mairi T and Shula B on 2nd post, both ensured that half rounders from Riley were kept to a minimum.

Well done girls on a very well played game.
