Spring Forward Inter-House Cross Country Challenge

(14.03.17) With Spring unmistakably in the air and Form 8 exams being over for the Term, there was no better time to have our end of season Inter-House Challenge.

After much recent racing, some legs were tired but the competitive spirit and the eagerness to defend House colours was never stronger.

Speed was indeed the key factor but participation was also important as each runner was able to score, just by sweating round the 3 lap course.

On this cool and dry afternoon, after much battling over a total distance of around 1 mile, on a hilly course of soft terrain and occasional tarmac, a gradual stream of 39 children, each sporting their respective House colours, crossed the finish line, exhausted but elated.

Each runner was clearly eager to find out whether enough points had been accumulated in order to be the victor. After the scores were tallied, it was revealed that LEWIS was the overall winner, thanks to the stamina of Jamie L, Teo T, Christopher H, Jonny M, Esther L, Sasha M, Ben E, Tessa H, Harriet O, Olivia C, and Carmen McD. Susie R came top girl. Everyone ran hard and each little athlete deserves a round of applause.
