Rugby Reports for Week Beginning 18.09.17

Under 13B Rugby: Craigclowan v Loretto (Home)

(20.09.17) On Wednesday, the U13B rugby team hosted their first match of the season against Loretto.

The team was in very high spirits and were determined to put into practise all that they had been working on in training.

The match was a very entertaining affair with both sides getting themselves into good positions. Big hits, powerful forwards' play and strong dynamic backs' running saw the boys in sky blue convert their possession into points. There were lots of positives to take from the match and it’s now up to the boys to build on this performance as we move forwards in the season.

I would like to thank all the Craigclowan parents who came along and supported the boys.

Well done boys a great result!

Under 11 Rugby: Craigclowan v Loretto (away)

After a long bus ride down over the new Queensferry crossing, we started the match well. We were surprised, however, by the determination and strength of some of the smaller members of the Loretto team. Their desire to win the loose ball was fantastic and I hope that the Craigclowan boys learnt from the display. It was a game where the lead passed from one team to the other making for a very tense final five minutes. Luckily the power, strength and speed of Jamie L. saved the day scoring a last minute try. Jamie should be congratulated on his performance which was really the difference between victory and defeat.

Well done boys. A better performance than last week but still a great deal to do to develop our team work and width on the pitch.

Craigclowan – 6

Loretto - 5

Final Score: Craigclowan 28 Loretto 0
