Hockey Match Reports for week beginning 25.09.17

Under 11 Hockey  Craigclowan v St. Leonards  v  Kilgraston

(27.09.17) A much improved performance against two good Under 12 teams. They started off strong against St. Leonards and passed the ball quickly and accurately.  Kilgraston were a stronger team, which challenged our girls. However, they never gave up and they should be very proud of their efforts.

Final Scores:

Craigclowan 4  St Leonards 0

Craigclowan 1 Kilgraston 1

This has given them the much needed experience for their IAPS tournament next week.

Under 10 Hockey  Craigclowan v St. Leonards  v  Kilgraston

(27.09.17) The first game of the season for the Under 10 girls. They played their socks off, keeping the ball wide, feeding the ball accurately to their forwards who finished with some great goals. All the girls played well as a team and they also should be very prud of their efforts.

Final scores:

Craigclowan 1 St Leonards 2

Craigclowan 5 Kilgraston 0

Huge thanks to Kilgraston for letting us play today. It was a lovely afternoon of hockey.

U13 Hockey v Belhaven, Wednesday 27th September 2017

U13A: Our U13A team had a convincing win against Belhaven on Wednesday at home. A strong defence of Louisa, Susie, Maisy, Sophia and Annabel did not allow Belhaven to penetrate their attacking goal.

There was some great goals scored by our forwards, and impressive team work, and the girls were really good at keeping possession of the ball. Well done girls on a great performance.

Final Score:

Craigclowan v Belhaven: Won 9-0

Tessa (3) OJ (2) Annie (1) Susie (2) Alyssa (1)

Women of the match: Maisy

U13B: The girls fought hard from the first whistle and played with determination and effort throughout the match.  The drive of the forwards and midfield players was outstanding and this resulted in the ball being in the opposition’s D for most of the first half.  The first goal was an excellent effort from the top of the D by Ava.  There were a few short corners which the girls played to their advantage and Olivia H set up numerous opportunities to score goals.  Charlotte capitalised on this and scored off a deflection.

In the second half, Belhaven took advantage of inconsistent marking by our defence and they scored two goals but many more were saved by Matilda’s strong goalkeeping.  Olivia C showed off her leadership skills as captain scoring 2 goals in the second half.

Well done girls!

Final Score:

Craigclowan v Belhaven: Won 4-2

Ava (1) Charlotte (1) Olivia C (2)

Women of the match: Charlotte
